Due to recent developments in recipes and ingredients we have developed new formulas and ways of making high protein bars.

ANR has developed “COLD PROCESSED BAR TECHNOLOGY – CPBT™"

This means that liquids are added to the dry ingredients at cold or ambient temperatures, and mixed cold to form a cold or ambient protein dough (bar filling).

Most importantly of all they taste great with good flavour release and excellent melt in mouth texture and are not tough, chewy or doughy in the mouth.

We have formulas that allow the production of bars up to 60% protein using CPBT.


CPBT has many advantages over other bar manufacturing techniques:

  1. Less denaturing of proteins
  2. Little hardening of bars over shelf life.
  3. No energy used to heat up syrups and no energy used to cool down
    resulting dough, making the whole process LEANER AND GREENER than
    standard bar making techniques.
  4. Lower carbon footprint.
  5. Basically removes a whole processing step.
  6. As bars are deposited cold they can be coated in chocolate immediately, meaning that the process is much faster.
  7. Less equipment needed.
  8. Dough is not sticky so easily handled and cut.
  9. Mixing cold dough is not new, however it has never been possible to get such high levels of protein into an edible bar!
  10. Is very fast, as first bars can be produced from time the mixer is turned on, coated in chocolate and wrapped in less than 15 minutes in a continuous process.
  11. Uses less than half the factory space than standard bar making techniques saving on all related property costs as smaller production unit required.

ANR Production Capacity
We have approximately 5000 square feet (454 square metres) of production capacity and with the equipment we have we are very flexible and are currently capable of processing around 1000kg of dough into bars per shift(i.e between 10 000 to 25 000 bars per shift depending on the size of the bar).

This makes us suitable for medium sized production runs.

Product launches are scheduled for private label business (of the bars only) before the end of the summer.

Samples are available, but please be aware that until they are launched a confidentiality agreement will need to be signed before release.

LICENSING OPPORTUNITY –bars and cookies
ANR-Probake is at heart a research and development company rather than a production led business. We have a medium sized bakery/bar factory in order to generate income and prove our technologies and products.

However we are very interested in discussing licensing our formulas in areas outside of the EU such as North America, Australasia, South Africa and Asia. We will consider all credible enquiries.

Additionally we would consider EU enquiries if the volumes required are much higher than our medium sized factory can handle.

Our formulas will allow more companies to enter nutritional food sector as most bakeries could handle our cookie and bars, as only standard equipment is necessary, and the big barriers to entry have been removed.

Cookie formula is also available for licensing however we must stress that this product is baked, wheras the are not always baked.
